This Is Our Rubicon Moment
Enough Is Enough
We have all now seen the video of Alex Pretti being gunned down on a cold street in Minneapolis. The unarmed VA nurse, trying to protect a woman who was being assaulted by an ICE agent, was thrown to the ground and pummeled by a half a dozen thugs. He was then summarily shot and killed without warning.
We were all witnesses to a cold-blooded murder. There is no other way to frame it.
Following this, Kristi Noem had the audacity to call the victim a ‘domestic terrorist’ who ‘attacked’ the officers ‘with a 9mm handgun’ and that they in turn ‘feared for their lives’. All of that is demonstrably false. Her statement is a testament to just how ignorant and obsequious and easily-manipulated this unlawful regime believes their followers to be. The well-known quote from Orwell’s 1984 is particularly apt here. ‘Reject the evidence of your eyes and ears’, they are telling us.
But we all saw it. As plain as day in hi-def on all of the 24/7 news channels. He was not attacking. He was not holding a weapon. The ICE agents were not fearful.
It was an execution. One officer applauded afterward and equated it to Call of Duty. Another taunted, ‘Oh, boo hoo!’ to the terrified and screaming onlookers. Then they turned and walked away, not even bothering to secure the scene of a shooting.
When will it be enough, my fellow citizens? How many more innocent people have to be killed in our streets, or disappeared into the black holes of nameless detention centers, or terrorized in their workplaces, their churches or their neighborhoods before we rise up? Before we finally say, ‘We are Americans and we refuse to be treated as criminals, as inferiors, as pawns in the game of the oligarchy!’
This is our Rubicon moment. We need to be courageous. We need to be determined. We need to cross this river. This madness has to stop!
